Kingshurst has a Windows based computer system providing access to office applications, the Internet and e-mail. To use the college's computer network all students and parents must agree and sign our ICT Contract. Students who break the Contract will have their network computer account disabled.
On joining Kingshurst students are issued with a username and password for access to the network system. Students are not allowed to use the system using an unauthorised username or password.
Students can transfer files between home and college using a USB torage device or CD-R disks, which must be scanned by a member of the NCS team for viruses. We recommend that students transfer files via e-mail - all students are issued with an e-mail address on joining the college.
Computer games are not allowed to be brought into or played in College. This includes web-based games on the Internet.
Students who are fortunate enough to have access to a personal computer outside College are encouraged to work on computer for homework and projects etc. It is certainly not necessary to have a computer at home.
The ICT Policy defines how we at Kingshurst, Kingshurst expect all our students, to use the college computer network. It also defines how we will provide support for students and staff in return. Click the link below to view the document.
